Washington, Apr 1 : The United States is planning to work with the new Pakistan Government to combat terrorism.

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told reporters on Monday while visiting the Middle East that the US appreciated the fair and free elections in Pakistan and was pleased with Pakistan's return to civilian rule.

"We will now begin working with Pak's new government on the whole host of issues involved in the Pak-US relationship. That includes issues concerning terrorism, which threatens Pakistanis, which resulted in the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, Rice said.
