Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has asserted that the new cabinet would work democratically and in a transparent manner for which the international communitys help would be required.

Islamabad, Apr 1: Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has asserted that the new cabinet would work democratically and in a transparent manner for which the international community's help would be required.

"I expect of the international community to help strengthen democracy in Pakistan," Qureshi said.

"I am sure that the world community has accepted Pakistan's democracy wholeheartedly," the Daily Times quoted him, as saying outside Zardari House in Islamabad after being sworn in as the country's Foreign Minister.

He said all the diplomats he had met so far were ready to work with the new government.

A senior Foreign Office official said Qureshi's appointment had been well received by the senior officials.
