Girija Prasad Koirala not to campaign for April 10 elections

Nepal Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress (NC) Girija Prasad Koirala will not campaign for the April 10 general elections.

Kathmandu, Apr 1 : Nepal Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress (NC) Girija Prasad Koirala will not campaign for the April 10 general elections.

His schedule to address six election rallies in main cities has been cancelled, the nepalnews.com reported.

According to party sources, one reason behind cancellation of his rallies is his health. The other reason is that as the officiating head of state, Koirala is unwilling to address campaigns in favor of his party alone.

Nepali Congress Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel, former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and its acting President Sushil Koirala have been campaigning for the party in the run-up to the election.
