Pranab meets Palestinian President in New York

External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee met Palentinian President Mahmoud Abbas here on Thursday on the sidelines of the ongoing United Nations General Assembly.

New York, Sept 28 : External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee met Palentinian President Mahmoud Abbas here on Thursday on the sidelines of the ongoing United Nations General Assembly.

During their half-an-hour long meeting, both leaders focused on the peace process in Palestine and the enhancing of bi-lateral relations between the two countries.

Pranab assured Abbas of India's commitment in supporting the on-going peace process.

Pranab, accompanied by Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon, is in New York to attend the 62nd General Assembly of the UN.
