Islamabad, Sep 27 : Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz today filed the nomination papers of President Pervez Musharraf for the October 6 presidential elections at the Election Commission.

Private media was not allowed to cover the event.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up to prevent untoward incidents.
The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has completely cordoned off Constitutional Avenue right from Convention Centre Chowk to the Margalla Hills for all kinds of traffic. The entry of the public has also been banned from Thursday to Saturday, The Nation reported.
Only candidates or their proposers and seconders are being allowed to enter the Election Commission, while special arrangements have been made for media representatives.
Interior Secretary Syed Kamal Shah told reporters on Wednesday that foolproof security would prevail inside and outside the Election Commission.
Mobile phones, cameras, ladies bags, laser key chains, calculators and batteries would not be allowed inside the Election Commission Secretariat.
Security has also been beefed up at all entry and exit points of Islamabad.
Sources said the police have picked up a number of people from different sectors of the city.
"The purpose of these raids and subsequent arrests of innocent citizens was aimed to please the higher ups," said a source.
