As part of the global tribute to the late Luciano Pavarotti, a series of screenings of the Italian legends operas will be held in New Delhi.
London, Sept 27 : As part of the global tribute to the late Luciano Pavarotti, a series of screenings of the Italian legend's operas will be held in New Delhi.
A number of concerts and exhibitions are scheduled to begin on October 6, exactly a month after Pavarotti succumbed to pancreatic cancer at the age of 71.
The concerts and exhibitions will be held in 90 Italian cultural centres across the world.
The Italian Ministry released a statement saying that the aim of the commemoration is to take Pavarotti's important moments to the largest possible audience.
"(The aim is) to bring the most important moments of Pavarotti's international career to the largest public audience possible,' the BBC quoted the Italian foreign ministry, as saying.
The ministry also said that that along with the screening of Pavarotti interviews at the Italian cultural institute in Lima, Peru, concerts will be shown in Hungary, Denmark and France.
The planned tributes also include a memorial evening planned by South Korea's National Opera, and screening of Verdi's La Traviata in Uruguay.
A photographic exhibition and a number of concerts to honour the tenor's career has been organised in New York.
