London, Sept 25 : A 20-year old Brit man narrowly escaped death after falling from a height of 40ft, thanks to a quick thinking neighbour who placed a mattress below him.
Kyle Hall was leaning on the ledge of his third storey window when he lost his balance and tipped over. As his girlfriend Michaela Wickenden clung on to his arm and screamed for help, a neighbour placed a mattress under him to break the fall.
And Hall couldn't be grateful to the neighbour.
"When I lost my grip I thought, 'It's all over'. But luckily I bounced off the mattress - and hit my head on a flowerpot," The Sun quoted him, as saying.
Michaela, who pushed Kyle away from the building as he fell so he would miss ledges and metal railings at street level added: "When I was holding on to his arms I could see the look of fear in his eyes and I was thinking if I let him go that would be it and I would never see him alive again."
And Kyle has a lot to be thankful for, for he is a new father to a 13-week-old boy.
