London, Sep 23 : Britain's dumbest drink-driver was banned after he turned up at a police station in an inebriated state to answer his bail.
Philip Cavalier was being charged for an earlier offence of driving into a tree while drunk when cops whiffed alcohol on him.
The 56-year-old was ordered to undergo tests, which showed that Cavalier, who drove his van to the station, had 152mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, i.e. five times over the limit
Magistrates in Eastbourne, Sussex, said the case was "beyond belief," reports The Sun.
Cavalier admitted drink driving and was banned for five years.
