Cases against Benazir to stay: Shaukat Aziz

Pakistans Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that the cases against Benazir Bhutto will stay, as nobody is above the law.

Islamabad, Sep 19 : Pakistan's Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that the cases against Benazir Bhutto will stay, as nobody is above the law.

Bhutto's homecoming is her own decision and she will have to face the cases pending against her in the courts, Aziz told an Australian television channel.

He said that the Pakistan Government is not making a deal with the PPP and that it was a dialogue for political reconciliation.

"We are talking to her (Benazir), but don't intend to have a deal as such... the ballot box would decide who forms the next government," he added.

Aziz said that the government was in communication with various political parties for political reconciliation and for the betterment of the country.

"It would be good for Pakistan if all parties agree on certain basic national issues to take Pakistan forward," the Daily Times quoted Aziz, as saying.

Aziz claimed that President Pervez Musharraf's continuation, as President would ensure continuity of present policies.

Under the law, Musharraf can retain both offices till the end of the year, he added.
