Taliban, politicians sealed a deal for release of 250 soldiers in Waziristan: Reports

The Taliban and political administration of South Waziristan have reportedly signed an agreement for the release of over 250 soldiers who were held captive since last month.

Islamabad, Sep 18 : The Taliban and political administration of South Waziristan have reportedly signed an agreement for the release of over 250 soldiers who were held captive since last month.

Media reports were quoted by opednews.com as saying that the Taliban will release the abducted soldiers in phases.

As per the agreement, the Pakistan Army will have to leave the area and the Frontier Constabulary will take the charge and the Taliban activists, who are in jail, will have to be released.

However, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Waheed Arshad said that he has no clue about the agreement.

In an another interesting development, the retired general have warned that the country could witness a civil war, if the ongoing operations against the terrorist are not stopped immediately.

This observation came in the wake of the recent suicide strike on an army mess in Terblea-Ghazi.

Holding the Musharraf regime responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation as well as the resurgence of terrorism, these retired generals have said that the situation is alarming as much for "our allies in the war on terror" as for the nation itself.
