Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and former cricketer Imran Khan has said that the people of Pakistan would not accept a made in Washington democracy.
Islamabad, Sep 13 : Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and former cricketer Imran Khan has said that the people of Pakistan would not accept a 'made in Washington democracy'.
"Bush Administration wants to make the so-called liberal alliance in Pakistan, while the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) is being made as B-team of Musharraf. Terrorist party the MQM is also part of this liberal alliance," Khan told reporters while protesting against US Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte visit.
The protest was planned in front of the foreign office, but police stopped the rally at the Pakistan Radio office.
The protesters carried placards and banners, chanting slogans like "Go Musharraf go".
Khan claimed that Negroponte and Richard Boucher have no right to interfere in the internal affairs of Pakistan.
The people of Pakistan have the right to rule country, The Nation quoted Khan, as saying.
He strongly condemned the deportation of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and arrest of political leaders and workers.
