Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of Nawaz Sharif, has delayed her plan to return to Pakistan. She will return after Ramazan.
Islamabad, Sep 13 : Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of Nawaz Sharif, has delayed her plan to return to Pakistan. She will return after Ramazan.
"I will be back to Pakistan right after 'Eid-ul-Fitr', as I don't want the nation to be beaten by the state machinery on the orders of the military dictators while they are fasting in the holy month of Ramazan," she said.
Kulsoom said that she has a great respect for the holy month, and was not used to going outdoors frequently during Ramazan.
She said that on the other hand the 'enlightened' rulers of Pakistan have no respect for religious values, and they would not feel embarrassed to use state force to humiliate and torture fasting citizens.
"I have decided to not to go Pakistan in Ramazan. I know many people are saying that the popularity of Nawaz Sharif is touching a peak now, and I should reach immediately to win public sentiments. I am of different view. We don't do seasonal politics and never take momentary advantages. The nation will be with the PML-N even after Eid," she added.
Kulsoom said she would reside at her Raiwind residence, and would take part in all political activities from there.
Responding to a question, she said that there were no restrictions of telephone or movement on Nawaz Sharif in Jeddah, and added that he is residing in Sharif Palace, the house owned by the Sharifs.
She said that on Tuesday, Sharif met many close Pakistani and Saudi friends at the Sharif Palace.
The News quoted Kulsoom as saying that after her arrival in Pakistan she would not depend on institutions, but on the masses to battle the dictatorship.
Kulsoom said she herself did not want to indulge in politics.
"My countrymen need me to fight against dictatorship, that's why I am coming back," she added.
