Washington, Sept.13 : In January 2005, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice was referred to as a "failed counselor, one of Bush's neocon dittoheads and a stone-cold heartless bitch."

But now, Glenn Kessler's new book, The Confidante: Condoleezza Rice and the Creation of the Bush Legacy, says that in her two years as Secretary of State, Rice has transformed from "policy mud hen to diplomatic swan."

Kessler, a Washington Post diplomatic correspondent, traveled the globe with Rice, says that he witnessed firsthand the rebuilding of her public personality by her handlers at State.
