The Pakistan Government forced former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif back into exile to Saudi Arabia without even processing his immigration papers, said former Governor and Punjab Chief Minster Ghulam Mustafa Khar.
Islamabad, Sep 11 : The Pakistan Government forced former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif back into exile to Saudi Arabia without even processing his immigration papers, said former Governor and Punjab Chief Minster Ghulam Mustafa Khar.
"We saw a lot of commandos, including women, all around us as our plane touched down at the airport," the Daily Times quoted Khar, as saying.
"Nawaz and I moved back and waited. Lord Nazir was also with us. The plane's door opened after a considerable time and a man, claiming to be an immigration officer, came in. He asked for Nawaz's passport. He also asked us to come out of plane," he added.
Citing the security reasons, Nawaz and his supporters said they would not get off the plane, Khar said.
"Lord Nazir and Nawaz ordered tea in the lounge," he said.
Two Pakistan Air Force officers were standing outside the lounge and escorted Nawaz away.
"He was taken out without the immigration process. The other part of the story that Nawaz has been deported has been made public," Khar said.
