McGraths breast cancer suffering wife told shes in remission

Australian cricketing great Glenn McGraths wife, Jane, has survived a decade after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Sydney, Sept.11 : Australian cricketing great Glenn McGrath's wife, Jane, has survived a decade after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

he was 31 then, and had to undergo a mastectomy, followed by six months of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Believing that she had survived the worst, Mrs McGrath was shattered in February last year when the cancer returned.

The ordeal prompted husband Glen to announce his retirement from cricket last November, and with the former fast bowler by her side, a beaming Mrs McGrath yesterday said she was in remission and waiting to get the all clear.

"I am feeling really well," she said. "I celebrate 10 years of survival next week so that is wonderful."

Glen said he was happy to take a back seat and let his wife Jane do all the talking.

"It won't be long before I am known not as Glenn McGrath the cricketer, but Jane McGrath's husband," he said.
