The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Tariq Majeed and Vice Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaque Pervaiz Kiyani assumed charge of their posts on Monday.
Rawalpindi, Oct 8 : The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Tariq Majeed and Vice Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaque Pervaiz Kiyani assumed charge of their posts on Monday.
General Majeed assumed the charge at a simple ceremony held at the Joint Staff Headquarters here. Director General Joint Staff Headquarters, Lt. General Syed Athar Ali welcomed General Majeed on his arrival at the Headquarters, The News reported.
General Majeed was presented a guard of honour by an elegant and smart contingent of all the three armed forces. After inspecting the parade, he was introduced to the Principal Staff Officer of the Joint Staff Headquarters.
General Kiyani assumed the charge of Vice Chief of Army Staff at General Headquarters, where he was welcomed by Chief of General Staff, Lt. General Salahuddin.
General Kiyani was also presented a guard of honour before he was introduced to the Principal Staff Officer.
