Pakistans Supreme Court directs Govt. to allow Nawaz Sharifs homecoming

In a landmark order, Pakistans Supreme Court today directed the Government led by Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf to allow former premier Nawaz Sharifs homecoming.

Islamabad, Oct 30 : In a landmark order, Pakistan's Supreme Court today directed the Government led by Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf to allow former premier Nawaz Sharif's homecoming.

Coming down heavily against the Government, particularly against Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, the bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry observed: "The judgment passed by this court is very much intact, adding, " The orders passed by the court are required to be implemented in letter and spirit."

The apex court had earlier allowed the return of Sharif in spite of the government opposing it claiming that he and his brother had made a deal with Musharraf.

Boosted by the court's decision, Sharif returned to Islamabad from London on September 10, ending his seven-year exile only to be forcibly sent back to Jeddah.

The apex court today said that the deportation of Sharif was in complete violation of its earlier order.

Supporters of Sharif hailed the decision and cadres of his party PML-N shouted anti-Musharraf slogan on the streets and burst crackers.
