Even as Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said that troops were not engaged in any kind of operation in the Swat area and they were trying to maintain law and order there, security forces killed 10 militants belonging to a radical Taliban cleric, as clashes between Pakistan army and militants here entered its third day.

Islamabad, Oct 28 : Even as Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said that troops were not engaged in any kind of operation in the Swat area and they were trying to maintain law and order there, security forces killed 10 militants belonging to a radical Taliban cleric, as clashes between Pakistan army and militants here entered its third day.

"We have reports that 10 extremists were killed in the action," The News quoted chief military spokesman Major General Waheed Arshad, as saying.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that hundreds of people are leaving the area as clash between army and militants backed by religious leader Maulana Fazlullah refuses to die down.
