Jamil Akbar Bugti, the son of late Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti, has been placed in the Exit Control List (ECL) for his alleged involvement in anti-state activities.
Quetta, Oct 10 : Jamil Akbar Bugti, the son of late Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti, has been placed in the Exit Control List (ECL) for his alleged involvement in anti-state activities.
Deputy Attorney General Chaudhry Mumtaz Yousaf told the Balochistan High Court that Jamil was placed in the ECL after intelligence indicated his involvement in such activities.
Yousaf submitted para-wise comments on the issue before the division bench on behalf of the Interior Ministry, the Daily Times reported.
However, he did not mention as to whether the bank accounts of Jamil Bugti and others would be freezed, but said the Interior Ministry had no knowledge of any such action.
Chief Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and Justice Akhtar Zaman Malghani were hearing a constitutional petition filed by Jamil pleading that he is suffering from neck, backbone and nervous system ailments, and should be allowed to go to the US for treatment.
