Islamabad, Oct 1 : The Election Commission of Pakistan on Monday released the final list of the five candidates, including General Pervez Musharraf, who will run for the October 6 Presidential polls.
Chaudhry Amir Hussain had withdrawn his candidature on Monday forenoon, according to The News.
Hussain, Speaker of the National Assembly, approached the Chief Election Commissioner personally and submitted his withdrawal.
None of the other four contestants, Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Justice (Retd) Wajihuddin Ahmed, Faryal Talpur and Mohammadmian Soomro, opted out of the race.
