Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairperson Benazir Bhutto has said that al Qaeda chief Osama bin Ladens aversion to a women ruler is preventing her return to Pakistan.
Lahore, Oct 1 : Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chairperson Benazir Bhutto has said that al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden's aversion to a women ruler is preventing her return to Pakistan.
Benazir went on to say that Osama does not have faith in ethos of democracy.
She however expressed the hope that the Pakistan Government would take care of her security once she is in her home country.
"I have expressed my security concerns to the Government, and I am hopeful that I will be provided security on my return," Bhutto said in interview to an American TV channel.
Commenting on her much-touted power-sharing talks with President Pervez Musharraf, Benazir said she was no longer hopeful about it.
"Domestic pressures" are compelling her to contact opposition parties, the Daily Times quoted her as saying.
Talking about deportation of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, she said that he was deported because of his conviction.
Referring to the "assassinations" of her father and brother, she said that her past life was very traumatic, but she is hopeful about future.
"I am aware of threats, but I have a strong belief in the almighty," Benazir added.
