London, Nov 13 : If you want enhance your general knowledge, you would be better of not asking a Brit too many questions, for chances are that their reply will leave you zapped.
A new survey has exposed the uninformed nature of the Brits, by revealing that a third of Britons think Mount Everest is in the UK or the Alps.
Apart from failing to place the world's highest mountain in the Himalayas in Asia, the UK people also fell short of recognizing the world's longest river.
The poll of 1,000 Brits found that only half knew the Nile was the longest river in the world, reports The Sun.
The survey also showed that one in three had never visited their local museum, and most could not even name their closest countryside.
