Former Pakistan premier Benazir Bhutto has reportedly confirmed that she was holding talks with the Pakistan government. She also said that she would meet Nawaz Sharif in Dubai.
Lahore, May 4 : Former Pakistan premier Benazir Bhutto has reportedly confirmed that she was holding talks with the Pakistan government. She also said that she would meet Nawaz Sharif in Dubai.
Claiming that she still honoured the Charter of Democracy (CoD) which she signed with Nawaz Sharif, she said that the objective behind her back channel talks "since 2002" with the Pakistan government was "to end military rule".
About Nawaz Sharif's recent statement asking for clarifications on the deal Bhutto was apparently signing with Musharraf, she said, "which kind of explanation Nawaz Sharif wanted" from her.
Benazir was speaking to media persons at the opening ceremony for her book in Dubai.
About the ongoing judicial crisis and Lal Masjid issue, she said that the CJP issue should soon end, and the Lal Masjid administration had defamed Islam and Pakistan, reported the Daily Times.
Claiming that democracy was the only solution to the 68 percent corruption prevailing in Pakistan, she said that democracy and uniform couldn't go together.
