Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday stressed that there was now an urgent need to make progress in conflict resolution, in particular the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, in order to consolidate the peace process for durable peace in South Asia.
Islamabad, May 29 : Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday stressed that there was now an urgent need to make progress in conflict resolution, in particular the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, in order to consolidate the peace process for durable peace in South Asia.
Talking to Nirmala Deshpande, a member of the Rajya Sabha, who called on him here at Aiwan-e-Sadr here, Musharraf commended her for her efforts to promote peace between India and Pakistan and briefed her on the progress being made in the Composite Dialogue, including the Confidence Building Measures.
Deshpande, who heads the Indian Chapter of Pakistan-India Friendship Group in the Indian Parliament, also informed Musharraf about her recent activities in the field of rural development in India.
