Islamabad, May 26 (ANI: Pakistan's opposition parties have reportedly decided to launch a civil disobedience movement against President Pervez Musharraf's plan to go ahead for his re-election.
Opposition parties met under the patronage of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) and warned Musharraf not to impose martial law in the country.
Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Raja Zafarul Haq, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Asfandyar Wali and Imran Khan, who were present at the meeting, said they would soon announce a protest schedule in all four provincial capitals.
The Pakistan People's Party (PPP), which has differences with the MMA, did not attend the meeting, the Daily Times reported.
Constitutional powers must be restored and role of army in politics must be abolished, they demanded in a joint declaration.
