Kasuri accuses India of non-cooperation in Anti-Terrorism Mechanism

Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri has accused India of not cooperating in Anti-Terrorism Mechanism adopted by the two countries for intelligence sharing.

Islamabad, May 25 : Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri has accused India of not cooperating in Anti-Terrorism Mechanism adopted by the two countries for intelligence sharing.

"Anti-Terrorism Mechanism (ATM) was signed between the two governments for intelligence sharing, but India is not cooperating," the Daily Times quoted him, as saying.

He went on to say that despite repeated requests from Islamabad, New Delhi had so far not shared intelligence on February 18 blasts in Samjhauta Express train, which killed 68 people.

Kasuri further dismissed allegations that Pakistan was not doing much in the war against terror, saying, "We have deputed 80,000 troops on our western borders and have suffered hundreds of casualties. We have done more than any other country in the war on terror".

He added that Pakistan was open to fencing and mining to stop cross-border terrorism.

The Samjhauta Express blasts took place on the night of February 18 while the trans-border train was passing through Panipat in Haryana. New Delhi had described the incident as an act of sabotage by militants to derail the ongoing peace process with Islamabad.
