With violence in Karachi refusing to end, Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan on Sunday said the security forces have been authorised to make arrests and shoot the miscreants to enable the former to restore law and order in the city. ANI

Maoist lawmakers register proposal to declare Nepal republic
The Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-M) lawmakers on Sunday registered a proposal at the Parliament Secretariat for an amendment in the Interim Constitution to declare Nepal a republic immediately. The eight-point proposal registered by Maoist chief whip Dina Nath Sharma states that declaring republic had become urgent in order to pave way for unhindered Constituent Assembly elections. ANI
