Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) urged the Election Commission (EC) to extend its draft-electoral rolls display period, at least by a month.
Lahore, July 3 : Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) urged the Election Commission (EC) to extend its draft-electoral rolls' display period, at least by a month.
The extra month would provide enough time to the people to check the list and if there is any discrepancy it can be corrected, the Daily Times quoted HRCP, as saying.
The lists made by the ECP had discrepancies that were raised so that they could be solved, but now the display period was coming to an end, the problems remain unsolved, the HRCP added.
According to the HRCP the ECP had agreed with protesting political parties that rose against the omission of millions of names from electoral rolls across Pakistan.
