Musharraf would soon be able to get a grip on this area, he added.
The US understands the problem faced by Pakistan, and at the same time, believed that the tribal areas should be fully integrated into Pakistan, McCormack said.
The Pakistan Government was trying to revive a peace agreement it reached with tribal militants in North Waziristan in September 2006, the Daily Times quoted him, as saying.
