Eight people were killed and 28 injured when a boiler exploded in a towel factory in North Karachi on Tuesday morning.
Karachi, July 24 : Eight people were killed and 28 injured when a boiler exploded in a towel factory in North Karachi on Tuesday morning.
The explosion was powerful enough to bring the two-storeyed factory building down. Quarters for factory workers located nearby were also heavily damaged.
The Edhi Foundation, fire brigade personnel, the town administration and other concerned authorities are still involved in rescue operations. The dead bodies and the injured have been shifted to a hospital.
Dr. Liaquat Memon, Assistant Police Surgeon at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, told Geo News that seven bodies and 27 injured, including two women brought to hospital. The condition of four was declared critical.
Three of the deceased have been identified. They are Zahoor Hussain, Farooq and Muhammad Hanif.
