Washington, July 23 : Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud asuri has said that Pakistan is a frontline state in the global ar on terrorism, and is capable of reigning in militants in its ribal areas, bordering Afghanistan.

Appearing on CNN's "Late Edition," an angry Kasuri objected to alk of US forces attacking the al-Qaeda on Pakistani territory, nd warned that any unauthorised incursion by the West would lienate opinion in Pakistan, which is a key ally of the US in he fight against terrorism.

Criticising US officials for recommending direct and unilateral S military action in Pakistan's tribal areas, Kasuri told CNN rom Lahore that Pakistan possessed one of the world's largest nd most experienced armies, and was equipped to deal with the ituation.

He also expressed Pakistan's resentment at being constantly argeted by the American media for not doing enough.

Recounting the heavy casualties suffered by Pakistan's security orces, Kasuri complained that these sacrifices have been either ownplayed or have gone unacknowledged in the American media.

The Daily Times quoted him as saying that Pakistan "resents" the tone" of criticism that is levelled at it from the US, despite ll that it has done, and is doing, in fighting terrorism and xtremism.

He asked the US to provide "actionable intelligence" regarding he Al Qaeda in Pakistan, and said Islamabad will do what's ecessary.

"We are committed to controlling terrorism, and people in akistan get very upset when despite all the sacrifices that akistan has been making you get all these criticisms," said asuri."When you talk of going after targets, you will lose the battle or hearts and minds," he said.

He did not, however, reject the idea of US operations in Pakistan ith or without Pakistan's consent.
