Talks with Musharraf essential to oust military from politics: Benazir

Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto, has said that her party is willing to talk with President Pervez Musharraf as talks are the only way to oust the military from politics.

Lahore, July 20 : Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto, has said that her party is willing to talk with President Pervez Musharraf as talks are the only way to 'oust' the military from politics.

"We haven't reached any agreement with the government, but we can't deny talks for the sake of democracy," Bhutto said in an interview to ARY television news channel.

"Channels should be kept open for talks," she added.

Admitting that the Musharrraf government recently facilitated her, she said that she was not interested in facilitation and that she "is fighting for the people of the country."

Cautioning the growing influence of extremists in the country, Benazir said radicals want to convert Pakistan into a Taliban state, and if that happens then the entire world would turn against Islamabad.
