Riyadh, July 20 : Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Shaikh has advised the Muslim youth to be aware of the vicious elements that are distracting them in the name of "fake jihad".
"Self-claimed mujahideen with their version of jihad are only distracting Muslims," the Daily Times quoted Sheikh Al-Shaikh as saying.
The young Muslims must consult authentic religious scholars for proper guidance, the Grand Mufti said.
In the present era, the real meaning of jihad is to shun evil and follow the teachings of Islam, he said.
He said that it is very ironic that Muslims are divided into sects with each sect considering it to be following the right path and declaring other as non-Muslim.
