London, July 19 : Formula-I racing star Lewis Hamilton is to replace former England soccer captain David Beckham as the new face of mobile phone giant Vodafone, The Sun reports.
Twenty-two-year-old Hamilton's role as Vodafone's global brand ambassador could see him fronting a multi-million pound advertising and promotion campaign.
His earnings on and off the track could hit the 500 million pound mark over the next ten years, ranking him second only to golf's Tiger Woods as the world's highest paid sportsman.
Beckham, 33 parted company from Vodafone after his stint with Real Madrid got over.
Now rising star, Hamilton is seen as appealing to a younger audience than Becks.
