Rumours that Prince William and ladylove Kate Middleton have rekindled their romance have been strengthened with the news that the latter has been invited for his stepmother, the Duchess of Cornwalls 60th brithday bash on July 21.
London, July 18 : Rumours that Prince William and ladylove Kate Middleton have rekindled their romance have been strengthened with the news that the latter has been invited for his stepmother, the Duchess of Cornwall's 60th brithday bash on July 21.
It seems that the Middleton, who is holidaying in Caribbean Islands with friends, is 'hopeful' of making it to the celebrations.
A royal source said that though the Duchess and the 25-year-old get along really well, inviting Middleton for the party was up to the prince.
"Camilla was keen to invite Kate as the two have always got on well but for obvious reasons it had to be William's decision in the end," the Daily Mail quoted a royal source, as saying.
Since the tenth death anniversary of princess Diana is around the corner, the party was supposed to be a low-key event, but Prince Charles made sure that his wife's birthday is celebrated.
"It was meant to be a rather low-key event as it is also the tenth anniversary of the late Princess of Wales's death. But the prince would never let his darling wife's landmark birthday pass without some kind of celebration and by all accounts it will be rather jolly," a source said.
However, the Queen and other senior members of the royal family are expected to be absent during the party.
"It's just not a party on that scale," a Clarence house spokesperson said.
Two hundred guests, including Joan Rivers, Joanna Lumley, Stephen Fry, Prunella Scales and Timothy West, have been invited for the Saturday celebration, which will take place in the gardens at Highgrove.
On July 17, on her actual birthday, the Duchess and Prince Charles paid a visit to Wiltshire village of Bromham.
The couple had a private lunch with her close family at Raymill.
