Prince William and Kate Middletons split in April lasted for a mere four days.
London, July 1 : Prince William and Kate Middleton's split in April lasted for a mere four days.
The pair's romance started after Kate broke off her relationship with a previous boyfriend while at St Andrews University in 2003.
They had been dating for four years and it was widely expected that William would soon propose.
However, instead of hearing about a wedding, the British public were left shocked when the couple announced their split instead in April this year.
Rumours that a reconciliation might be on the cards started swirling after they were caught kissing recently at an Army party.
And now the News of the World reveals that the two had got back together barely four days after they split up.
"It has been a cloak and dagger operation for them to see each other. William and Kate did have a fallout and they did break up, but they were back together within days," the paper quoted a source, as saying.
"The rumours about them getting engaged were getting stronger and stronger and they couldn't cope with it.
"They also knew they would look a bit daft getting straight back together after such a public fallout," the source added.
The source also revealed that shortly after the split, the two had arranged clandestine meetings at friends' homes.
"It was quite fun for a while to meet in secret. There is a group of about eight that Kate and William trust. They knew what was going on and kept it a secret and helped them plan their romance away from the public eye," the source revealed.
The insider also added that the 'split' had also helped reduce the pressure on the two of them to marry, and they are now just enjoying each other's company.
"William and Kate never intended to fool anybody or cause a stir. But that time out of the spotlight has been brilliant. Now people don't think they are about to walk down the aisle, they think they are just patching up their relationship," the insider said.
"William adores her and she adores him. I don't think there will be any more splits," the source added.
