Islamabad will release 50 Indian prisoners languishing in the Central Jail in Karachi later today, a day after India repatriated 43 Pakistani prisoners through Attari-Wagah border.The prisoners will be handed over to Indian authorities through Wagah border on Monday.

Lahore, July 1 : Islamabad will release 50 Indian prisoners languishing in the Central Jail in Karachi later today, a day after India repatriated 43 Pakistani prisoners through Attari-Wagah border.The prisoners will be handed over to Indian authorities through Wagah border on Monday.

According to Syed Sarim Burney, Vice Chairman of the Ansar Burney Trust International, all the expenses of their return to India will be borne by his trust.

Syed Sarim and Syed Fahad Burney will travel to Wagah border where the officials of the Pakistan's Ministry of Interior and Indian High Commission will be present to hand these nationals to India, The Nation reported.

New Delhi yesterday handed over 43 Pakistani prisoners, including 10 fishermen and two women, who were languishing in jails across India after being convicted for minor crimes.

Indian officials handed them to the Pakistani authorities at the Attari-Wagah border.

According to rough estimates, presently 513 Pakistani nationals are held in various Indian jails, including 50 fishermen and 463 civilian detainees. In December 2006, India released 19 Pakistani prisoners while Pakistan returned 55 Indians as a confidence building measure (CBM).
