Muslim jibe lands Brit police officer in trouble

A senior police officer is under investigation after he described a Brit Muslim cop as a terrorist.

London, Dec.6 : A senior police officer is under investigation after he described a Brit Muslim cop as a terrorist.

According to The Sun, civilian recruitment manager Darren Yates called Muslim police constable Tariq Dost "a prat" while setting up a stand at a jobs fair.

Dost, who was attired in off-duty Islamic clothing, also alleged that he overheard Yates telling another worker: "I'm sorry but he looks like a terrorist."

He also claims Yates asked him: "Why don't you cut your beard?" and poked fun at Muslim prayer sessions, saying: "You're not going to go around shouting and waving your arms, are you?"

Tariq, from Small Heath, Birmingham, was a copper for 17 years in Manchester before joining the West Midlands force two years ago, working under Yates.

He has officially complained.

"Tariq was also getting some remarks regarding his beard and that kind of thing, which he isn't happy about, said a colleague.

Yates, in his early thirties, runs the recruitment office at the force headquarters in Birmingham.
