George Bush never forgives those who give him the flu bug!

A CNN reporter is seething after US president George W. Bush blamed her for passing her bug to him while flying around the country in the 2000 elections.

New York, Dec 6 : A CNN reporter is seething after US president George W. Bush blamed her for passing her bug to him while flying around the country in the 2000 elections.

During a press conference about Iran on Dec 4, Bush started recalling about running for President, and held Candy Crowley's flu virus responsible for the lowest point in his campaigning days.

He said that while he was going to the Presidential campaign trail, he certainly would not miss the cold and flu bugs that are spread on the campaign plane, including one that infected him while running in 2000.

"What I'm not gonna miss, which is what we all, some of us went through in 2000, which was getting on an airplane and having my friend Candy Crowley pass a virus around," the New York Post quoted him, as saying.

"I got a respiratory infection, so did half the press corps. They got off the plane; I didn't get to get off the plane! It was tough," he added.

In response to Bush's charges Crowley said: "Now this is a guy who can hold a grudge."

The veteran political correspondent wrote in an e-mail: "Yes, it's the truth, and not the first time I've heard it. I got sick followed by a lot of people on the plane, including Bush. Like Bush, most of the plane blamed me. Just because you're the first person to get sick doesn't necessarily mean you're the carrier."

"In fact I was sick enough that the president of CNN ordered me off the campaign trail and into a very expensive hotel room to eat soup and drink tea until I got better."

However, Bush immediately clarified that he wasn't disrespecting or insulting Crowley.

"I'm not dissing Candy. I said 'my friend!'" he said.
