An unnamed letter to the University of Peshawar has asked it to stop the inter-mixing of male and female students.
Peshawar, Dec 3 : An unnamed letter to the University of Peshawar has asked it to stop the "inter-mixing" of male and female students.
The letter was received by the university's Political Science Department on Friday.
"We have alerted the police and the university authorities in this regard," the Daily Times quoted Political Science Department Chairman Dr AZ Hilali, as saying.
"The letter said that we have to stop anti-religious propaganda and the inter-mixing of boys and girls," Hilali said.
It also asked the department teachers to avoid chatting with female students or face the consequences.
Hilali told the daily about some boys complaining, a few days ago, that most of the students in the university were girls.
The series of threatening letters were an attack on civil liberty, he said.
The copies of the letter have been sent to the authorities, which are yet to take any action.
