London, Dec 28 : Britain's first Muslim minister has told young Asians that England is the best country in the world for Muslims to grow up and live in.Shahid Malik - the International Development Secretary, urged Muslims to embrace the national flag and celebrate their Englishness, as this would demonstrate their patriotism and deal a massive blow to Islamic extremists and preachers of hate.

"My message to young Muslims is be proud to be English and don't let anyone steal your identity. This is one of the greatest nations in the world and we should be proud to live here - let's shout about it a bit more. There is no other country in the world I would rather be. The rights and freedoms we enjoy are better than any country in the world for Muslims, better than any country in the Islamic world," The Sun quoted Malik, as saying.

The tolerance and sense of fair play shown by Britain to Muslims should be reciprocated by a zero tolerance of hate-fuelled Islamic views, Malik said.
