Pak Govt. grants visas to 200 foreign poll observers

The Pakistan Foreign Office on Wednesday said that the Musharraf regime has granted visas to 200 foreigner poll observers, who will monitor the January 8 elections.

Islamabad, Dec 26 : The Pakistan Foreign Office on Wednesday said that the Musharraf regime has granted visas to 200 foreigner poll observers, who will monitor the January 8 elections.

The government was committed conduct free and fair National and Provincial Assemblies elections, Foreign Office spokesperson Mohammed Sadiq told reporters here.

Former premiers of the country, Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif have joined hand to defeat loyalists of President Pervez Musharraf and have also vowed to bring back 'real democracy' in the country.

Commenting on the US aid for tribal areas, Sadiq said linking Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) development package with Pakistan's performance on the "war on terror" would derail the development work in the area, a The News report has said.
