London, Dec 25 : The next time a Briton talks to you, make sure that you listen to him or her properly, for a survey has revealed that Brits get hot under the collar most over people not hearing what they say.

Conducted by David Ormerod Hearing Centres, the survey, aimed at finding what drives the English mad, found that 51 per cent of Britons were most irritated by people who didn't hear their conversation.

The second place in the list of the nation's top ten frustrations was grabbed by car alarms, followed by un-tuned radios, novelty ring tones and the sound of a baby crying.

The survey, also found that people were less likely to put up with a bad smell in the house, a toothache or a flickering television.

Heather Pitchford, a leading audiologist from David Ormerod Hearing Centres, said that despite the frustration caused by impaired communication, people were still reluctant to take action if they have difficulty with their hearing.
