Lahore, Dec 20 : Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that he and nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan were punished for making Pakistan a nuclear state.
Addressing public rallies in Allahabad, Khudiyan Khas and Kasur, Sharif said "The situation in the country has gone out of the hands of existing rulers and people need breathing space. I was humiliated during my deportation to Saudi Arabia. My hands were tied to my seat for more than seven hours in the plane. I will never bow to dictatorship of any kind as I am a man of principles".
He also expressed over the loss of lives in military operations on the Lal Masjid in Islamabad and in the Swat.
Charging the government with failure to curb terrorism, he said the PML-N did not believe in the leadership of President Pervez Musharraf, as he had created differences among the people and the judiciary for his personal gain.
