An American woman has gotten into trouble with her husband after accidentally selling his first wifes ashes during a garage sale.
London, Aug 8 : An American woman has gotten into trouble with her husband after accidentally selling his first wife's ashes during a garage sale.
Anita Lewis thought she was only getting rid of the ceramic turtle jar when she sold it for just 58 cents, to a woman who was going to use it as a cookie jar.
To her horror, she later found out that the jar contained the ashes of her hubby Terrence's first wife.
Mr Lewis's first wife had collected turtles and since the couple's home was full of them, Anita had not thought that this particular jar would be one wit the ashes.
"We have lots of turtles. It didn't even register that this was the one (containing the ashes)," Ananova quoted her, as telling the Elmira Star-Gazette newspaper.
Anita and Terrence are not hoping that the woman who bought the jar will return it to them.
