US, Pak to deal with al Qaeda jointly: Bush

President George W Bush has given clear indication that the US and Pakistan would jointly take military action against al Qaeda elements in tribal areas bordering Afghanistan.

Washington, Aug 7 : President George W Bush has given clear indication that the US and Pakistan would jointly take military action against al Qaeda elements in tribal areas bordering Afghanistan.

"Pakistan and the United States - will be able to bring top Al Qaeda to justice," the Daily Times quoted Bush, as saying.

Bush further said that it would be in Pakistan's best interest to bring foreign fighters to justice.

"We're in constant communication with the Pakistan Government. It's in their interest that foreign fighters are brought to justice. After all these are the same ones who are plotting to kill President Musharraf," he said.

"We share a concern. And, I'm confident that with real actionable intelligence, we will get the job done," he added.

Bush also congratulated Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai for his efforts to hold the joint Pak-Afghan Jirga as a means to solving the common problems being faced by both Pakistan and Afghanistan.
