Kate Moss, multi-culture and chavs sum up UK

UKs modern identity can now easily be summed up in just three things - Kate Moss, multicultural society and chavs, a new survey has revealed.

London, Aug 6 : UK's modern identity can now easily be summed up in just three things - Kate Moss, multicultural society and 'chavs', a new survey has revealed.

The survey conducted by Harper's Bazaar magazine revealed that the troubled supermodel along with multiculturalism, and 'chavs', a sub cultural stereotype best represent the modern Britain.

The nation's reputed stiff upper lip, impeccable manners and wartime leader Winston Churchill stood for the 'old Britain'

One-third think that the Queen is the 'greatest living icon' and 76 pct believe that fashion designer Dame Vivienne Westwood is the 'greatest English eccentric', reports the Daily Mail.

The survey that had about 1000 respondents also found that mashed potatoes is the country's favourite 'comfort food' and the two things that a typical Briton would miss abroad are a cup of tea and the British sense of humour.

For 91 pct, if there is something that they would like to change, it is the country's weather.

The respondents also rated themselves eight on a scale of ten for sexiness.

Burberry trench coat was named the country' s 'most iconic fashion item' and 54 pct voted for Topshop as their 'favourite brand'.

The survey appears in the magazine's September issue.
