Australian Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews says that he has no regrets about the way he handled the Mohamed Haneef case.
Sydney, Aug.5 : Australian Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews says that he has no regrets about the way he handled the Mohamed Haneef case.
Andrews on Sunday said he had had a tough time in handling the case, and believes that his decision to withdraw Dr. Haneef's work visa was just.
"I don't have any personal regrets," ABC Television quoted him, as saying.
Andrews said the hardest thing was being privy to information, which he felt justified his decision - information which could not be publicly released because it was part of an ongoing police investigation.
He reiterated that he felt he made the right decision under immigration legislation.
Andrews said he still feels Dr Haneef's behaviour throughout the ordeal "has been suspicious" in connection to the UK terror plots of June.
