At least six people were killed in a suicide car bomb attack in Parachinar town of the North West Frontier Province and another 14 were killed in security forces and pro-Taliban militants clashes in North Waziristan.
Peshawar, Aug 4 : At least six people were killed in a suicide car bomb attack in Parachinar town of the North West Frontier Province and another 14 were killed in security forces and pro-Taliban militant's clashes in North Waziristan.
The bomb went off at a Parachinar bus station after the attacker rammed an explosive-laden car into another vehicle near a bus packed with passengers, the BBC reported.
At least 20 people were injured in the attack, and several vehicles and five shops were also damaged.
In North Waziristan's tribal region, pro-Taliban militants stormed a security checkpoint in Dosali and exchanged fire with security forces in which at least four soldiers and 10 militants were killed.
"The miscreants fired 50 to 60 rockets at five posts before attacking one of the posts with automatic weapons", military spokesman Major General Waheed Arshad said.
After the Lal Masjid incident, there has been a sharp increase in attacks on the security forces in which over 100 have been killed so far in the country.
