Queen of Mean leaves pet pooch £6million

American property billionaire Leona Helmsley, notoriously dubbed the Queen of Mean, made a point even in death when she left 6 million pounds to her pet pooch, and nothing to some of her relatives.

London, Aug 30 : American property billionaire Leona Helmsley, notoriously dubbed the Queen of Mean, made a point even in death when she left 6 million pounds to her pet pooch, and nothing to some of her relatives.

Helmsley, who has died in New York aged 87, doted on her Maltese terrier named Trouble, and made sure that she will be well looked after.

Employees revealed that Trouble has same luxurious tastes and bad temper as her late owner.

The dog will be looked after by her brother Alvin Rosenthal, and when it dies, will be buried alongside Mrs Helmsley.

"When my dog dies, her remains shall be buried next to my remains in the Helmsley Mausoleum," Ananova quoted her will, as stipulating.

Despite owning a fortune estimated to be between 2billion and 4billion pounds, she left two of her grandchildren nothing "for reasons which are known to them".

Only to two grandchildren has she bequeathed something. She has left 20million pounds to two grandsons David and Walter Panzirer - but they lose half unless they visit their father's grave every year.

None of her 12 great-grandchildren are mentioned in the will.

Mrs Helmsley was dubbed the 'Queen of Mean' after saying "only the little people pay taxes" before she went to jail in 1989 on tax evasion charges.
